Oscar Petfield is a Sussex-based artist who studied Carpentry and Joinery before undertaking a BA (Hons) Designer Maker Degree at University Centre Hastings. With a background in Carpentry and Joinery and a newfound love for Ceramics and Jewellery, Oscar likes to push materials to their limits and explore their varied and multiple uses. In his practice, he merges his knowledge of the materials and the joy of making.

He draws his love of structural and architectural form from his Carpentry and Joinery background. Oscar integrates this with the fluidity of Ceramics to create abstract vessels that explore the multiple and varied perceptions of the future that have been depicted throughout time.
